Do HH Star Ratings Match Care? New Study Says No.

Home health agencies whose star ratings shine are not necessarily the ones whose patients do best, says a study published April 10 on the JAMA Network Open.
The study says that agency-reported outcomes (OASIS-derived measures) were less accurate than claims-based measures in reflecting patient-care quality.
Here's a quote from the article:
The observed improvement in HHA-reported measures was not accompanied by corresponding improvement in more objective measures (eg, hospitalizations), which raises concern about the use of agency-reported measures in assessing HHA quality of care.
Hmmm. Interesting. Do you agree with these findings? I'd love to hear what you think.
Be well.
